Granite is a good option if you want a product that consists of natural materials. Quartz on the other hand is easier when considering maintenance and also provides better durability. Granite requires regular sealing. Quartz is an engineered stone composed of crushed quartz and stone by products. It only requires simple cleaning to remove bacteria and is permanently sealed.

Dekton’s a highly compact quartz product. Dekton is composed with a blend of porcelain, quartz stone and glass. It is scratch and stain resistant, as well as non- porous and easy to clean. It also comes in a range of colours.

The natural stone is mostly scratch-resistant or at least hides small scratches well, due to the depth of its colour and patterns. Granite will only be scratched by another piece of granite or with specially sharpened tools designed to cut through the material.

Granite stone worktops are highly heat resistant, and can accept usual kitchen working utensils, for example, hot pans. Quartz worktops are less resistant to heat and are advised to not receive hot pans directly.

Yes, we are able to custom design stone to any shape. Logos, plaques and business information can be manufactured from natural stone that’s engraved, laser-etched and blasted into the required shape. We also offer a general external refurbishment service in addition to minor building works and fit outs.

A unique product now defined as a Sintered Stone, Lapitec is a supreme example of a construction material developed by employing advanced scientific manufacturing techniques.

Lapitec’s composition is 100% mineral with no resin or hydrocarbon-based binder components. It’s chemistry and mineralogy are similar to a granite but with a tight, cryptocrystalline structure similar to Porcelain.

Quartz surfaces are non-porous, hard wearing, resistant to heat and scratching, and do not require sealing, making them very low maintenance. Together with their aesthetic advantages, the durability of quartz has meant that this has become the kitchen worktop of choice for many homeowners.

Quartz occurs in nearly all acid igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It is an essential mineral in such silica-rich felsic rocks as granites, granodiorites, and rhyolites.

A new kitchen is a big investment, so it is natural that you want to make sure you choose the right surface for your needs. As quartz surfaces are man-made, they are available in a wide range of colours and all slabs of a specific colour can show the exact same pattern. This provides you with consistency throughout your work surface that is not always possible with a natural stone.

As granite and marble are natural materials, each piece is different, making it a more “unique” worksurface which may be considered a benefit to some, but a drawback to others as you will not fully know what your kitchen really looks like until the worktop is fitted.
